What is HOCl and is it actually safe?
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a compound generated from salt and water. It’s used in cleaning and disinfecting products to provide effective performance on hard, non-porous surfaces when used as directed. Suitable for use in kitchens and other high-use areas according to label directions.
How is this different from bleach?
Bleach (sodium hypochlorite) and hypochlorous acid (HOCl) are different compounds with different properties and use profiles. Bleach solutions are typically alkaline and can have a noticeable odor. Depending on concentration and use conditions, they may require careful handling and ventilation. HOCl solutions are generated from salt and water and are typically formulated closer to neutral pH. Is this safe to use around babies and toddlers?
This product is designed for use on hard, non-porous surfaces when used as directed. It can be used on high chairs, changing tables, toys, and other frequently used surfaces according to label directions. After application, allow surfaces to dry before use. As with all cleaning products, store out of reach of children.
Is this safe around pets?
Our products are designed for use in homes with pets. Dog Gone Odor is designed for use on surfaces and fabrics in homes with pets. Apply as directed and allow treated areas to dry before use. As with all cleaning products, keep out of reach of pets when not in use.
Does it have a scent?
HOCl belongs to the chlorine family, so there may be a very faint, clean scent that dissipates quickly. There are no added fragrances, perfumes, or synthetic scents.
How long does it take to work?
For disinfecting, spray on the surface and allow to remain wet for 10 minutes before wiping or allowing to air dry. For odor control, apply to the affected area as needed. Helps control odor-causing bacteria on treated surfaces when used as directed.

What’s the difference between the Multi-Purpose Disinfectant and the All-Purpose Cleaner?
The Multi-Purpose Disinfectant is EPA registered to kill 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and fungi — it disinfects. The All-Purpose Cleaner is formulated for everyday cleaning and degreasing without the disinfecting claim. For surfaces that need sanitizing (bathrooms, high chairs, pet areas), use the Disinfectant. For regular cleaning, either works.
Are you a certified non-toxic brand?
Our products are formulated without synthetic chemicals, bleach, ammonia, or fragrances. Our Multi-Purpose Disinfectant and Dog Gone Odor are EPA-registered. We are Green Seal certified and dermatologist tested, making our products non-toxic and safe for families.

You may notice a very faint, clean scent when first applied because hypochlorous acid (HOCl) belongs to the chlorine family of compounds. Our products contain no added fragrances or perfumes, and the scent dissipates quickly after use
