why we created Good Salt Life?

Good Salt Life started because we couldn’t find what we were looking for. We wanted a cleaning product that actually worked – not something that smelled like lavender and left a sticky residue. And we wanted something we felt confident using throughout our home, every day. We couldn’t find both in the same bottle. So we made it. We’re a family business based in Athens, Georgia. We manufacture every product ourselves in our own facility. That means we control every ingredient, every batch, and every label. There are no surprises in our formulas because we write every formula ourselves. Our formulations use hypochlorous acid (HOCl), generated from salt, water, and electricity. It’s a simple, effective approach to cleaning and disinfecting on hard, non-porous surfaces when used as directed. We brought this technology into the home to deliver reliable performance without unnecessary complexity. Clean without compromise. That’s not just a tagline. It’s the reason we started.

Our Story

The hidden danger in many cleaning products is that the chemicals designed to kill harmful substances can harm you and your environment. Ingredients like ammonia and bleach, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) already in the environment don’t just affect air quality – they can negatively impact long-term health for people and pets. If you can smell it, it’s in the air. Even pleasant fragrances in traditional cleaners are signs of floating particles that disrupt the indoor environment.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States saw a rise in cleaning solutions that promised to sanitize and protect people, pets, and their environments from the high-risk disease that was rapidly taking lives.
